KENNER- Police arrested a Montz man in connection with an accidental shooting that left a Laplace man dead, according to Kenner PD spokesman detective Brian McGregor.

Michael Wallace Dunn, 22, was arrested for negligent homicide and illegal possession of firearm after he shot and killed Perry Victor, 31, of Laplace with a stolen handgun, police said.

According to police, Saturday morning around 2:45 a.m., Dunn was sitting in the backseat of Victor’s vehicle at Chell’s Daiquiris on Airline Highway in Kenner “pointing the stolen gun in an unsafe direction, and attempting to unload it, according to Dunn; the gun discharged striking Perry Victor in the back.”

Victor was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

“Prior to seeking medical assistance for the Perry Victor, Dunn then threw the gun from the vehicle which was later recovered,” said McGregor.

Police determined that Dunn was in the rear seat of the vehicle. Officers found the weapon and determined the .22 caliber gun was stolen in St. Charles Parish in 2005.

This place isn't too far from my house. It's not unusual for the cops to be at that place. I'm surprised people still go there with all the trouble that goes on. Sometimes, when I work the early morning shift at the airport, the cops are already there when I'm on my way to work. That place is garbage and unsafe for people to be.

Maybe it should be closed down. Isn't that what they did to that hotel in the city? TOO MUCH VIOLENCE, THAN JUST MAKE THE OWNER LOCK THE DOORS FOREVER....

It scares me how everyone seems to be armed these days. Anyways, this new website is horrible. The white background makes it hard to read the articles!

Negligent homicide my a-- If you carry a gun and you are not allowed to have one and then you kill someone it is murder. If he did not have the gun in the first place it would not have happened. He had intentions to hurt someone with the gun.

Idiots who carry weapons into a licenesed drinking place are breaking the felony law and should be directly sent to jail or a stupidity remedial center. Shoot, even Texas has an automatic 5 year penalty for doing this; do we really think we have less idiots than Texas? Remember, we are #1...

This is what Ive talked about over and over, It isnt the fact that they have guns that scares the heck out of me, the right to bear arms is protected by the constitution (proud to have a concealed carry license myself) but the fact that none of these uneducated idiots know how to use them or shoot strait! this guy couldnt even uload the weapon properly!!! I say we give em free lessons and get them to aim strait, they'll do a better job of killing each other off and hurt fewer innocents.

They got one thing he was holding the gun in an un-safe direction. The back of some one head how smart can a person be. I do not believe it was an accident.
