TERRYTOWN, La. - A Terrytown mother and her young son are in the hospital after they were hit by an SUV Friday morning, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
The incident happened just after 8 a.m. in the 600 block of Deerfield Road.
Eyewitnesses told WWLTV that the 37-year-old woman and her 9-year-old son ran in front of the vehicle while trying to cross the street to get on the school bus.
