NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish grand jury has indicted a man who police say admitted to striking and killing his 2-month-old daughter.
According to District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro’s office, the grand jury on Thursday returned a true bill indicting Micah Short, 21, for first-degree murder.
At first, New Orleans Police said the father claimed the injury was an accident, but later admitted to striking the child because she was crying too much.
Short is being held in prison on a $1 million bond.
