NEW ORLEANS - Police have identified a suspect in a murder Thursday afternoon near a Chef Menteur Highway barber shop.
Travis Peters, 23, is wanted for second-degree murder in the shooting death of Herbert Nealy, 36, police said.
The murder happened Thursday at approximately 1:30 p.m., in the 7500 block of Chef Menteur Highway, where Nealy was found lying in front of a business shot multiple times.
Police believe the murder was drug-related.
Peters has a criminal record that includes arrests for aggravated burglary, resisting an officer, stolen property, drugs and robbery.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111. Callers do not have to give their name to earn the $2,500 cash reward.
