NEW ORLEANS – An arrest warrant has been issued for a New Orleans police officer on an accusation of rape.
Officer Henry Hollins has been suspended without pay pending an investigation, according to a spokeswoman for the NOPD. A woman is accusing Hollins of raping her after taking her into custody in June.
Officer Hollins has previously faced allegations of wrongdoing. He was reassigned within the NOPD in June after being accused of battery on his girlfriend.
The warrant alleging rape is considered a separate case, though the details of the allegation were not released.
Hollins was expected to turn himself in to police sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.

I Have a Problem With This As There Are Different Level"s Of Rape And Given The Fact That This Involves a Civil Service Employee Who Is Paid With Tax Payer Money The NOPD Really Needs To Be More Clear On The Nature Of Any Such Pending Charges.

NOPD needs to put an article in other states, for good police officers needed. The problem with the force now is that after the storms New Orleans needed so much HELP controling order, that they hired anyone & anybody. Too much trash got into the system, And they can't afford to weed the force out yet b/c they don't have enough good officers, and they have too many wicked ones. Sometimes I think it would be to the best not to have any police, Just give every business owner a gun to protect themselves, and to heck with the cops.

Warren Riley's biggest failure is his approach to hiring police officers. Warren riley has went into panic mode since he became chief after Katrina with the mindset of "hire as many guys as you can, we need a rebuilt force' and when it comes ot public servants thats the wrong approach to have. I notice a trend in terms of police officers now, they are alot younger...you have guys 20 and 21 whoh are police officers who dont fully have the mental capabilities to handle a job like the NOPD. All they think is, "man I got a badge and a gun, I can run the show now" and this is the result of that. My message to anybody seeking a career in law enforcement is to go federal especially if you live in New orleans. You have nationwide jurisdiction, the pay is better and the screening process is better. NOPD's psychological exam is among the poorest in the country, only thing NOPD cares abount is if you can pass the physical test...to hell with the mental capabilities that come w/ it

They know what this guy did, and they let him go under his own recognisance? What a bunch of idiots! Now hes gone and they have to waste money and resources finding him. Oh psychohurricane, this is the guy who handcuffed that girl and threatened to arrest her if she didnt preform a "sex act" on him, yeah, thats pretty much aggrivated rape.
