Off-duty NOPD officer injured in car crash at Brother Martin High

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- An off-duty NOPD officer was taken to the hospital after an unmarked unit he was inside of was struck by another vehicle in front of the Brother Martin campus Monday morning.

The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m.

According to police, the off-duty officer and a woman driver were parked in front of the school when they were struck in the back by a vehicle traveling northbound. The officer and the woman were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said no citations were issued at the time and the City Attorney will review the incident.
