NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans battle against blight gets a new tool Thursday.
Mayor Mitch Landrieu and the nonprofit Code for America will announce the launch of an interactive web tool called Blightstatus.
It will enable crucial partners in the fight against blight -- activists and neighborhood groups -- to track the city’s progress against blighted properties.
The mayor's office says this new tool provides easy access to data that has been inaccessible, as city works to get rid of 10,000 blighted properties by 2014.
