KENNER, La. -- The motive behind the murder and dismemberment of Jaren Lockhart, a French Quarter dancer, remains unclear, Kenner Police Chief Steve Caraway said at a press conference to discuss new developments in the case.

Caraway said Kenner Police were able find the several additional witnesses, and that led to Wednesday's arrest of Margret Sanchez at her parents home in Metairie. She, along with Terry Speaks, had been a suspect since parts of Lockhart's body were found on several different Mississippi beaches.

Sanchez was charged with second-degree murder, Caraway said, and obstruction of justice for dismembering Lockhart's body.

Speaks, who is in custody in New York on an unrelated charge, remains a suspect as well, according to Caraway.

Speaks and Sanchez were the last two individuals seen with Lockhart leaving a Bourbon Street strip club in 2012.

According to Caraway, the license plate recognition kits spotted Sanchez and Speaks' vehicle going to Kenner from New Orleans and then to Mississippi. The vehicle was later seen returning to Kenner.
