NEW ORLEANS -- Meet the happy couple, Victor and Rebecca D'Amico. The newlyweds couldn't wait for the reception, not just for the food and drinks, but for the Saints game.
It's not your typical after-wedding party, but it comes with a New Orleans flair.
There is everything from a gumbo pot cake to Fleur de Lis cufflinks.
A year ago the avid Saints fans would have never guessed they could have planned a better wedding date.
“For it to land on the Saints playing the Philadelphia Eagles, it is unbelievable,” Victor said. “We have a great crowd here and we'll be cheering on the Saints nation for sure."
Rebecca D'Amico said, “This is an incredible experience. When we first heard the game was tonight we didn't know what was going to happen but we are going to roll with it and hopefully the Saints will bring us a win."
They started dating in 2009 and fell in love right around the Saints’ Super Bowl victory in 2010.
The Saints faced a must-win game on the road and the couple knows how important this team has been to their story and what a win would mean for the city.
"It is very critical,” Victor said. “The Saints have meant so much to this city since Katrina. They have done so much. I think it will be a great game."
Guests put away the suit jackets and put on the jerseys. The group put the reception on hold during the game but kept the party going afterwards.
“If they win tonight it will be one heck of a celebration," Victor said. "It already is, but if they win we will blow the roof off of this place for sure."
