HOLDEN, La. -- State troopers say a Department of Public Safety Capitol Police officer was killed in a crash Tuesday night.
The three-car crash happened near Holden just after 6 p.m.
Troopers say 63-year-old John Kendall was traveling eastbound on I-12 when he crossed the median and hit an 18-wheeler and a pick-up truck head-on.
Investigators say he died at the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Kendall was a retired state trooper from troop l in Mandeville.
