NEW ORLEANS – Police identified a suspect and are trying to identify a second suspect in connection with the murder of a man in the Lower Garden District in June.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, Travis Cochran, 25, and another suspect bound and gagged Ahmad Sheppard, pistol-whipped him and then shot him in the head in his home in the 2000 block of Prytania Street. Sheppard died on the scene shortly after EMS arrived.
Cochran was identified as a suspect through forensic evidence found at Sheppard’s home, police said. Investigators are processing additional evidence to possibly identify the second suspect.
Cochran is wanted for first-degree murder.
