SHREVEPORT, La. -- Louisiana State Police arrested a man Wednesday who allegedly tried to carjack an unmarked police unit.
Joshua Adam Carter, 25, was booked in Shreveport with attempted carjacking.
According to state police, two members of the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force were stopped in an unmarked car at a traffic light around 4:30 p.m. on Spring Street in downtown Shreveport.
Police say Carter approached the vehicle, tried to pull on the door handle and demanded that the door be opened. But when he realized the doors were locked -- and that two police officers were inside -- Carter fled. He was then arrested quickly and without incident.
“We have been stressing the importance of law enforcement partnerships throughout Louisiana,” said Col. Mike Edmonson, Louisiana State Police superintendent. “This suspect quickly learned the results of our efforts as he was apprehended by a trooper, deputy and police officer all of who serve on a Federal law enforcement taskforce.”
