ST. HELENA PARISH, La. – Police are attempting to identify a woman who died after driving off the road for unknown reasons and hitting several trees in the early morning hours on Saturday, according to Troop L of the Louisiana State Police.

Around 2:45 a.m., troopers arrived on LA 37, approximately one mile north of LA 63, to find the white woman in a 2011 Buick LaCrosse on the east side of the highway.

She was pronounced dead on the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.

She was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol use is unknown, police said.
