NEW ORLEANS – NOPD found an unattended gym bag in the Central Business District early Monday, precipitating the diversion of traffic and closing of several streets for more than hour during the morning work rush..

The bag was found shortly after 6:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Common Street. SWAT was notified and a bomb-sniffing dog was brought to the scene, an NOPD official said.

The street closures ended just before 8 a.m. and the all-clear was given by authorities.
