NEW ORLEANS - Police released information Saturday on a woman they want to question in connection with a robbery and shooting at Bourbon Street strip club.
NOPD Eighth District detectives identified April Harts, 20, as a person of interest that may have information regarding the robbery and shooting that took place at Little Darlings, 411 Bourbon St., on Monday.
Police did not say how they believe Harts may be connected to the investigation but did not identify her as a suspect, only as a person of interest.
On Monday morning, a suspect entered the closed Bourbon Street strip club, shot an employee, robbed the business and fled, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Around 5:30 a.m., the 31-year-old victim let the last employee out of the business and locked the door.
He went into the office to count money and heard three shots, police said.
Then, the suspect kicked in the office door, shot the victim in the leg and hit him in the back of the head with an unknown object, police said.
The victim woke up and noticed cash missing, according to the NOPD.
The victim suffered a non-life threatening gun shot wound to the knee and was taken to the hospital.
Workers in the area are nervous because they don't have very much information.
"Maybe something went wrong. Maybe something got out of hand. Maybe somebody felt played, disrespected, you never know," said Bishop Green, a Bourbon Street bouncer.
New Orleans police said they were working good leads.
