ORLEANS

- Police are searching for a 28-year-old suspect accused of gunning down a woman in front of her children and then firing on several other people.

The incident occurred Saturday morning in the 2800 block of South Roman Street.

According to police spokesperson Remi Braden, Larry Haynes, who goes by the nickname "Sly," was arguing with a woman outside of her home when the argument escalated and he shot 26-year-old Tiara Reynolds while her children looked on.

Braden said it is believed Haynes may have suffered an injury himself as there was a trail of blood leading away from the scene in the path he is believed to have taken.

Police said they believe that someone in the New Orleans area is aiding Haynes as he tries to continue to elude police.
