GRETNA, La. -- A group of 10 RTA employees will split a $1 million Powerball prize from the March 16 drawing.
Thang Nguyen accepted the prize on behalf of the "Who Dat Ten." Six other members showed up to the Louisiana Lottery's headquarters in Baton Rouge to claim it.
The group will take home $700,000 after taxes are withheld. Nguyen said each office pool member would receive $70,000.
The head of the office pool said the group didn't learn they had won until checking the ticket at the office Monday morning.
Lottery officials said when the group leader checked the ticket, she "rushed through the hall yelling the good news."
The winning ticket matched all five white ball numbers but missed the red Powerball number. It came from the Discount Center on N. Broad Street in New Orleans. The store will receive a selling bonus of $10,000, which is 1 percent of the prize.
