GALLIANO, La. — A Raceland woman died nearly a month after sustaining severe injuries during a head-on car crash on a Louisiana highway, the Louisiana State Police said Tuesday.
Jeneva Billiot, 24, was taken to Lady of the Sea Hospital after the wreck before being moved to University Hospital in New Orleans, where she died this past weekend.
According to State Police public information officer Evan Harrell, the Buick that Billiot was riding in as a passenger was heading north on Louisiana Hwy. 1 shortly before 10 p.m. on April 27.

Cheramie’s blood alcohol level was above the legal .08 limit, Harrell said, and was arrested for DWI. Benjamin Sanchez, who was driving the LeSabre, was cleared of any alcohol involvement after submitted a blood sample, Harrell said.
Billiot was wearing her seat belt, State Police said.
