COVINGTON, La. -- If you think trying to win the lottery is fun, you may like trying to win a house. Officials broke ground Monday for the 2013 “Raising the Roof for Charity” Raffle House in Covington.
The two story home, in the Maison Du Lac subdivision, will be 4,000 square feet and worth more than $500,000. Ticket sales for the home go toward four Northshore charities, and previous sales have raised more than $4 million.
Bobby Hurley with the St. Tammany Parish Homebuilders’ Association said, “We invite everyone to come take a chance, tickets are $100 a piece and it’s for a terrific cause!"
