HAMMOND, La. -- The skeletal remains found in Loranger on May 21 have been identified as Dena Fout, a woman missing since August 2009.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, the remains were found by several boys frog hunting in a wooded area east of Loranger.

Fout, 46, was last seen on August 4, 2009, when she walked out of her home in the Loranger Mobile Park and disappeared. She left behind her three children and her boyfriend.

Detectives were able to verify that the remains found by the boys were those of Fout Monday, according to the sheriff's office.  Investigators are still trying to determine a cause and time of death.

Sheriff Daniel Edwards is asking anyone with information regarding Fout's death to please come forward.  Edwards encouraged anyone wanting relay information may do so anonymously via Crime Stoppers, 1-800-554-5245.
