SLAUGHTER, La. - Five people were killed in a two-car accident involving a drunk driver north of Baton Rouge on Wednesday, police said.
Just before 10 p.m. in Slaughter, Brett Gerald, believed to be driving home from celebrating his thirtieth birthday, caused a head on collision.
Gerald, who was driving a truck, hit a car with seven people inside near Highway 412 at Highway 67.
A three-year-old, as well as two people believed to be teenagers, are among the five people that were killed. The alleged drunk driver was not seriously hurt.
Gerald was arrested and booked Wednesday on several charges.
