NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Southern University in New Orleans plans to open a satellite campus in the Algiers neighborhood for the fall semester.
SUNO Chancellor Victor Ukpolo tells the Advocate (http://bit.ly/104Odi7 ) the new campus at the L.B. Landry Education Complex will be part of a partnership between the university and the Algiers Charter School Association.
The parties will complete the operating agreement in ceremonies April 2 at the Landry complex.
SUNO officials said they hope the agreement will attract nontraditional students and grow enrollment in communities on the west bank of the Mississippi River.
