NEW ORLEANS -- Police and EMS are on the scene of a school bus accident at Louisa and N. Robertson streets in the 9th ward.
Around 6:30 a.m., a car collided with the bus and slammed into a utility pole.
Eight students, from 16 to 18-years-old were on the bus. Two students were treated on the scene. One student was put on a stretcher and taken to the hospital.
According to police, the driver of a 2012 black Nissan Altima was traveling against traffic on Louisa St. when she collided with a school bus at the intersection of North Robertson Street.
"The driver of the bus and all of the students were transported to the hospital by EMS after complaining of non-life threatening neck and back injuries," police said in a statement.
The 31-year-old driver of the Altima was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to police, and was also cited for traveling on a one-way street and careless operation.
