NEW ORLEANS - Darren Sharper will remain in jail without bail in Los Angeles pending the receipt of charges from New Orleans.
The former Saints player was in court Monday in California. An arraignment was set for Friday.
Sharper turned himself in to police last week after an arrest warrant was issued for aggravated rape of two women in an alleged incident in New Orleans in September 2013.
Sharper had been staying in Los Angeles under a severe set of restrictions set by a judge after he was indicted on two counts of rape and additional counts of drugging the victims and others.
The court in Los Angeles says it is awaiting the charges in the New Orleans case.
Sharper, who had been suspended from his job as an analyst for the NFL Network, was fired from that job last week.
The former NFL Pro Bowl player also is under investigation for similar incidents in Arizona, Nevada and Miami, Florida.
