MERAUX, La. - Two 14-year-olds have been booked with burglary and felony damage after stealing hundreds of candy bars from a recreation park concession stand and damaging the stand in the process.
Sheriff's Office spokesman Steve Cannizaro said the two teens from Violet were arrested for the incident that occurred Aug. 25 at the parish recreation center in the 2500 block of Archbishop Hannan Boulevard in Meraux.
Cannizaro said the boys admitted to their involvement after police were tipped off that the youngsters had been selling candy at school. Some of the stolen candy was found at one of the boys' homes, while the father of the other boy brought it to the sheriff's office after finding it in his room.
