HOUMA, La. - A 22-year-old man and his 54-year-old father were arrested after officers said the two men attacked a deputy who was working a detail at an IHOP restaurant Saturday night.

According to Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter, the deputy attempted to intervene as the two men were disrupting business at the restaurant.

As the deputy moved toward the suspects, officers said the son, Charles Grasso III bit the deputy's face and tried to remove his gun.

Deputies said the suspects father, Charles Grasso Jr. also hit the deputy in the face.

The men were arrested and transported to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex.

Grasso III was charged with resisting an officer, battery on an officer, public intimidation of an officer, disturbing the peace, attempted disarming of an officer and simple battery.
