ST. JAMES, La. -- A 64-year-old man has died in a single-vehicle accident in St. James Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.
The crash happened just after 9 p.m. Saturday on La. 3219 just east of La. 3127.
Allen Morrison, 64, was driving a 1999 Dodge Ram when he, for reasons unknown to police, veered off to the right side of the road.
He drove "for almost 300 feet" on the grassy shoulder before trying to get back on the road, when he then over-corrected and caused his vehicle to overturn and eject him.
Morrison was not wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Troopers believe alcohol wasn't a factor in the crash, but tests are pending.
