NEW ORLEANS -- The public got its first look Tuesday night at a new campaign aimed at reducing violent crime in New Orleans.

At the Joy Theater Mayor Mitch Landrieu and award-winning film director and producer Spike Lee introduced a new multimedia public awareness campaign called "Flip the Script."

It's aimed at changing the attitudes of and about young black men.

"We have to get to a point where we can convince young black men that they should expect to live past 18 years old, Lee said.

Lee also says that he hopes the new campaign will help young black men understand the value of their lives and help them achieve their greatest potential.
