State Police are searching for a person they say struck a pedestrian on I-310. Police say the incident happened on Tuesday at around 6:45 p.m. when the man who was struck got out of his vehicle to pick up a mattress that fell out of his vehicle.

Police say Greg Boudreaux, a 37-year-old from Slidell, was parked on the shoulder at mile post 6.6 when he was waiting for traffic to clear so he could retrieve the mattress. It was then that Boudreaux was hit, suffering minor injuries. The driver did not stop after hitting him. Police say they found a left headlight assembly and a mirror on the scene.

Police believe the car that struck Boudreaux was a 2005 Chevrolet Impala. They also said the vehicle’s left front is damaged and is missing the side mirror on the driver’s side.

Police are asking for anyone with information on this case to call Troop B at 504-471-2775.
