According to the New Orleans Fire Department, the fire was reported around 7:20 a.m. in the 1000 block of Decatur Street in the building that includes Cafe Sbisa.
The fire started on the second floor in an apartment and spread to the third floor, according to the fire department. The building suffered substantial damage, with two apartments destroyed and nine damaged.
