METAIRIE, La. – Three people, including an 11-month-old child were injured, apparently after a shooting erupted at a block party on Arnoult Street in Metairie Sunday night.
Sheriff Newell Normand said that around 8 p.m., a fight broke out at a block party and within minutes shots rang out and people began running.
An 18-year-old woman was shot in the arm and an 11-month-old child received a graze wound to the head. A short time later, deputies said a man was dropped off at University Hospital, suffering from several gunshot wounds. His condition was unknown, nor was it certain that his injuries came from the block party shooting.
Crime scene technicians said they recovered a number of spent shell casings scattered about the area where this incident began. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
