COVINGTON, La. -- Covington police have arrested two teens for a random attack on another teenager who was walking home from the library.
The incident happened May 23 near the intersection of West 27th Avenue and North Polk Street.
According to Covington Police Chief Tim Lentz, a 17-year-old boy was walking home from the Covington library, when two 14-year-old boys approached him from behind and hit him, breaking his jaw.
One of the teens faces a second-degree battery charge. The other faces a principal to a second-degree battery charge.
Police say the two 14-year-olds have never heard of the "knockout game," and this was an apparent random attack.
Police were able to make the arrest with help from the public.
