WASHINGTON -- In a move that could signal possible legal fallout from that massive oil slick in the Gulf of Mexico, another federal agency is making its way to Louisiana.
Attorney General Eric Holder says he's sending a team of Justice Department lawyers to New Orleans to meet with the U.S. attorney and response teams.
Holder says the BP spill has "cost lives and created a major environmental incident."
He says the department will vigorously enforce laws protecting those who live and work in the area -- as well as protecting "the environment and the American taxpayers."
Several civil suits have already been filed.
