BELLE CHASSE, La. - A phone video sent in from Eyewitness News Reporter Ashley Rodrigue shows smoke from a fire at a Belle Chasse scrap yard Saturday morning.
Black smoke could be seen billowing from the Quick Recovery Auto Salvage yard. Belle Chasse fire crews are on the scene.
Belle Chasse Fire Chief Roy Robichaux confirms that employees of the salvage yard were cutting up old automobiles for scrap and apparently as they were cutting an old fuel tank out of an automobile, they accidentally set some nearby tires on fire.
The fire was completely contained and no injuries were reported.
