Former Harahan City Councilman Tim Walker and former Police Chief and Councilman Peter Dale will head to a May 3 runoff for Harahan Police Chief.

Voters faced four candidates in the race to fill the remainder of the term of Mac Dickinson, who resigned to take a job with State Police.

With all precincts reporting, Walker had 40.44 percent of the vote, with Dale earning 29 percent.

The other two candidates, Al Majeau, a former assistant police chief, had 23.4 percent and Darlene Schwartz, the former community policing officer, earned 7 percent.

Even with a May runoff, there will be another election in November to elect someone to a full term in office.
