NEW ORLEANS – During an argument, a man brutally beat a 27-year-old woman to death inside of a home in the Seventh Ward, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Around 12:20 a.m. Monday, police were called to the home in the 2000 block of Urquhart Street. Lauren Tanski was pronounced dead on the scene due to blunt force trauma to the body, police said.

Police asked for help in finding Henry "Hank" Dolliole, 39, an acquaintance of Tanski.

On Tuesday night, Dolliole was located in Jefferson Parish and brought to NOPD headquarters for questioning. During the interview, he admitted to the murder, police said.

He was arrested and booked with first degree murder.

Superintendent Ronal Serpas issued a statement, expressing outrage that Dolliole was out on the streets, despite a long criminal past.

“This suspect has a lengthy rap sheet, and it’s very disturbing that our officers arrested him multiple times - including for attempted murder - yet he was out of jail last Monday, and had the opportunity to bludgeon a woman to death," said Superintendent Ronal Serpas.

According to police, Dolliole was on probation until 2014 for possession of heroin. "He was previously arrested for Attempted Murder, Distribution of Crack, Armed Robbery, Attempted Armed Robbery, Simple Robbery, Possession of Crack, Marijuana and Coca Leaves, Second Degree Battery, Battery, Warrants, Domestic Violence, Stalking, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile, Theft over 500.00 and under 100.00, Disturbing the Peace, Trespassing, Open Container, Begging and Traffic Violations," said a release from the NOPD.
