NEW ORLEANS - A badly-burned woman was found dead inside of a bedroom in an apartment complex Uptown Friday morning.
NOPD spokesman Frank Robertson said responding units found the 57-year-old victim on the floor in a second bedroom in the 8100 block of Apricot Street near Dublin around 5 a.m.
Firefighters call the woman's death "suspicious."
The was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other occupants of the residence managed to escape. They did suffer some type of injuries but the extent of them were not known as of 10:30 a.m.
The case is being investigated by the NOPD and the Coroner's office is conducting an autopsy.
