BASTROP, La. -- Fourth Judicial District Attorney Jerry Jones says a state appeal court has upheld the sentence of a former youth minister sentenced to 24 years for molesting teens and three years for violating probation.
Twenty-six-year-old Jeremy Michael Little pleaded guilty after his arrest in January 2009 to three counts of sexual battery, and state Judge Carl Sharp sentenced him on May 28.
The 2nd Circuit found that the sentence was reasonable, and that under state law Little could have been given up to 10 years per count.
When Little was arrested, Sterlington Police Chief Barry Bonner said Little had told officials at Assembly of God Church of Sterlington that he was on probation for a drug conviction. He says Little had no record of child abuse.
