COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Authorities say a civilian helicopter has crashed about a mile below the summit of Pikes Peak, injuring four people.

The crash was reported at about 7:30 a.m. on Friday.

El Paso County Sheriff's spokeswoman Teresa Murphy says the pilot suffered critical injuries and was taken to a hospital in a second helicopter. Murphy says three passengers suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

Authorities say they don't know the cause of the crash.

Pikes Peak is 14,110 feet above sea level.

A spokesman for German automaker Audi says the helicopter was carrying a crew that was filming a driverless Audi on the road to the summit of the mountain.
