At the start of a new year, many people resolve to do things differently in the future. New Year’s resolutions are the topic of this week’s Commentary by Eyewitness News Political Analyst and Gambit columnist Clancy DuBos.

Today’s the day for New Year’s resolutions. Here are some I’d like to see:
Gov. Bobby Jindal should resolve to spend more time in Louisiana — and devote more attention to being governor and less to running for president in 2016.
Good luck with that one.
Mayor Mitch Landrieu and City Council President Stacy Head should resolve to put their political differences aside and start working together and trusting each other. Of course, they’ll have to earn each other’s trust as well.
Good luck with that one, too.
The same goes for Jefferson Parish President John Young and the Jefferson Parish Council.
We all should resolve to be patient and welcoming to the thousands of visitors who will soon be coming here for this year’s Super Bowl. That includes being nice to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Really. It’s important.
After all, we would like to host another Super Bowl.
Happy New Year, everybody.
