NEW ORLEANS - A 19-year-old man who was shot in the chest in an Algiers neighborhood has died from his wounds, according to the NOPD.
The incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. in the 3700 block of Garden Oaks Drive.
According to NOPD spokesman Garry Flot, an officer was driving in the area when he heard the gunshots and went to investigate.
Flot said the victim was found inside of an apartment, shot in the chest. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
