$187,000 worth of Meth seized at NOLA Amtrak terminal

NEW ORLEANS -- State Police Detectives arrested a California woman allegedly bring 5.3 pounds of crystal meth into New Orleans.

According to Louisiana State Police, 27-year-old Carmen Ochoa was arrested after detectives found her in possession of $187,000 worth of Methamphetamine.


Detectives assigned to the Amtrak Union Passenger Terminal for narcotics interdiction spotted Ochoa and asked to search her. She consented and the detectives discovered the meth on her body. She was then arrested and booked into Orleans Central Lock Up on one charge of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance.
