BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Baton Rouge police have arrested a woman suspected of stabbing her business partner to death nearly 13 years ago.
The Advocate reports that 48-year-old Sonya Walls Kimber was booked Friday on a second-degree murder charge in the death of 35-year-old Monique Edwards.
Kimber also faces an aggravated battery charge for allegedly stabbing and wounding Edward's daughter, who was 2 weeks old at the time of her mother's Nov. 14, 2000, slaying.
Police said DNA testing tied Kimber to the stabbing.
Family members said Kimber and Edwards were friends who attended the same church and operated a social service agency together.
