NEW ORLEANS -- A three-year-old boy was shot in the hand in New Orleans East, according to police.

Police said he suffered a non-life threatening injury in the incident. The child was shot around 6 p.m. in the 6000 block of Kuebel Drive.

Several hours later, police announced the arrest of 37-year-old Terrence Robinson for accidently shooting the child.

The child is listed in "good" condition at an area hospital, police said in a released statement.

According to police, Robinson will be booked with one count of negligent injuring and a felon in possession of a firearm.
