THIBODAUX, La. -- Lafourche Parish deputies have arrested a Thibodaux man for allegedly shooting someone Monday who said he had a "better' pit bull than him.
Nicholas Queen, 29, faces an attempted second-degree murder charge.
Sheriff Craig Webre said Queen got into an argument with the 25-year-old victim at the victim's home on Hyland Drive in the Marydale community at 11 a.m.
Webre said the argument was over "whose pit bull was 'better.'"
Queen left the victim's home after the argument and picked up his shotgun from his home. He walked back to the victim's home, shotgun in hand, and shot at the victim while he was driving. The victim was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The victim was unable to stop his vehicle after being shot, and he collided with a pickup truck that had three people inside. First responders transported those people to the hospital with minor injuries.
Queen admitted to shooting the victim, Webre said. Deputies recovered the shotgun under Queen's home.
Deputies are holding Queen on a $250,000 bond.
