Masked men caught on video robbing $15,000 from store at gunpoint

NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police are hoping that surveillance video of an armed robbery totaling more than $15,000 in cash may lead to the arrest of the two men responsible.

The robbery happened in the 2400 block of Elysian Fields Avenue on Nov. 27 at about 1:30 a.m.

According to NOPD spokesman Officer Frank Robertson, two masked men walked into a business in the block and disarmed the security officer on duty. They then held up the guard and the cashier at gunpoint, and then made off with more than $15,000 in cash. They fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The first gunman is described as a black man who is 5'11" tall and about 200 pounds. He was wearing a black mask, blue hoodie, dark jeans and blue sneakers.

The second gunman is described as a black man who is 5'11" tall and about 200 pounds. He was wearing a black mask, blue hoodie, dark jeans and black jeans.
