NEW ORLEANS – A cross-dressing man and a man with a bandana wrapped around his face robbed a popular Uptown record store on Friday, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Around 9:59 p.m., the pair casually walked into the store in the 1000 block of Broadway Street and the crossdresser approached the register to ask the clerk to use the bathroom, while the other man stood at the front door as a lookout, police said.

Then, the cross-dressing man walked behind the counter and demanded the clerk to open the register. The other man ordered an employee to open the safe in the manager’s office, according to the NOPD.

The men fled on foot in an unknown direction after collecting $2,000 in cash.

The cross-dressing black man has a stocky build and is approximately 6’0”. He was wearing a black dress with a dark cap and wig.

The other suspect is a black man with a light complexion and is approximately 5’8” tall. He was wearing dark jeans and a dark shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
