RESERVE, La. -- St. John the Baptist Parish deputies are investigating a double shooting that left both a 20-year-old and a 15-year-old injured.
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office first reported that the 20-year-old died from his injuries, but have since confirmed that he was taken to University Hospital for medical treatment for a gunshot wound to his head. He is currently in surgery and his condition is unknown at this time.
The shooting happened on East 13th Street in Reserve at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
According to deputies, a 15-year-old juvenile was also shot in the lower leg and was taken to St. Elizabeth's Hospital. His condition is also unknown at this time.
The sheriff's office didn't release the gender or identity of either victim, and the investigation is ongoing. This is the third homicide of the year in St. John the Baptist Parish.
