JEFFERSON, La. -- Jefferson Parish deputies found more than three dozen marijuana plants and a quarter pound of marijuana in the home of a 62-year-old man, according to Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand.
Josh Washington, 62, faces one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, one court of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of cultivation of marijuana.
Normand said the sheriff's office received a tip about a man named "Josh" selling and growing marijuana at 156 Ren Copas Court in Jefferson.
When arriving on the scene, deputies saw a marijuana plant growing in a pot in the front yard behind some shrubbery.
After Washington gave permission to search the home, deputies found 38 marijuana plants and 129 grams of marijuana. They also found a grow light, plant food, digital scales and smoking devices.
Washington is being held in the Jefferson Parish Correction Center.
