LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. – A Galliano man was arrested after he was caught with over $9,000 in counterfeit money, according to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Terry Guidry, 44, was arrested after a yearlong investigation for the production of counterfeit money.  Friday, Lafourche agents caught him with $9,100 in phony bills, said a release from the sheriff’s office.

Guidry was pulled over by agents in Raceland after it was learned that he would be carrying a large amount of counterfeit money.  In addition to the counterfeit bills, agents found “a glass pipe commonly used for smoking crack cocaine, as well as suspected synthetic marijuana, a second smoking pipe, and rolling papers,” said the release from the sheriff’s office.

“Agents also executed search warrants on two storage units under Guidry’s name in the Galliano area, and they located numerous items believed to be involved in the production of counterfeit money,” said  the sheriff’s office.

Guidry was booked with monetary instrument abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.
